Dinanath Sharma slams govt for turning mute spectator
KATHMANDU: Spokesperson of the ruling coalition UCPN-Maoist Dinanath Sharma on Wednesday accused the government of turning a mute spectator toward problems of the nation including woes of survivors of last year earthquake.
He said the government was moving at a snail's pace.
Speaking with journalists in Bhaktapur today, Sharma, however, maintained that the party was not in favour of toppling the incumbent government immediately.
He demanded that the government ensure safe resettlement of earthquake survivors before the onset of the monsoon this year.
He also criticised the government for not being able to control rampant black marketing of cooking gas and petrol.
The Maoist leader even claimed that the government and the Nepal Oil Corporation themselves were involved in the illegal marketing of essentials.
Sharma, however, maintained that the government would not change immediately.
Instead of toppling this government and forming the new one, top leaders of major parties have been trying to giving this very Cabinet a national shape, he revealed.
In another context, Sharma said local elections were impossible unless the row over demarcation of federal units ended.
