Displaced security personnel announce eight-day stir programme

Kathmandu, February 2:

Saying that the government turned deaf ears to their demands, security personnel who deserted their service during the insurgency have announced a series of protest programmes beginning tomorrow.

The former security personnel today announced their eight-day protest plan.

As per the schedule, they will organise chakkajam and corner meet in the afternoon at Baneshwor tomorrow and hold a parade at the same place on Wednesday. They will organise a corner meet and stick rally in front of CA building on Thursday and provide security to the CPN-UML’s programme to be held at Khulla Manch on Friday, according to a statement issued here today.

They also said that they would organise a mass meet at Baneshwor on Saturday and a whistle rally on February 10.

The former security personnel will bar government vehicles from plying on February 11.

The central committee of the displaced security personnel said they were forced to change the nature of their protests because the government turned deaf ears to their demands.
