Doctor held for using fake credential
KATHMANDU: Police on Thursday arrested a doctor on charge of submitted fake academic credentials to pursue medical education.
Sujit Kumar Shrestha (47), a resident of Thankot, Chandragiri Municipality-6, was arrested for submitting a fake Intermediate of Science certificate to do the Bachelor's degree.
A team deployed from the Central Investigation Bureau of Nepal Police had nabbed him from Thankot yesterday.
Shrestha was currently working at the Doti District Hospital in far-western Nepal.
Police said they would file a case under the Nepal Medical Council Act.
Earlier in February, police had launched the Operation Quack and nabbed 12 doctors on charge of using fake certificates to get the job.
