KATHMANDU: The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority on Thursday arrested a Section Officer at the Min Bhawan-based Department of Transport Management red-handed with Rs 25,000 bribe.

Arjun Prasad Rijal is accused of demanding and receiving the kickback from the owner of Maha Nepali Motor Driving Centre, Sorhakhutte, for registration of the company.

The anti-corruption constitutional body had received a tip-off about the transaction.

Consequently, the Commission mobilised a team and held him from the office premises today.

Further investigation is underway.
