DoTM set to change format of licence

The Department of Transport Management (DoTM) is all set to change the format of existing driving licence, vehicle ownership blue books and vehicle registration number plates to make

them of international standard and also help check irregularities.

“The new driving licences will be in the format of smart cards, the vehicle ownership blue books will be in a shape like that of a passport and the new vehicle registration number plates will be embossed ones,” said Sharad Adhikary, technical director of the DoTM, adding this change would help solve the problem of duplication of the documents and thus prevent any irregularities.”
