DPM Gachchhadar vows to bring Act within 15 days
KATHMANDU: The government has been preparing to bring the Act relating to the local level governance within 15 days.
Speaking at a programme organised by the Ministry of Federal Affairs and Local Development in the Capital today, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Federal Affairs and Local Development Bijay Kumar Gachchhadar said that the Act relating to the local level governance would be finalised within 15 days.
"This will create the environment conducive for local level's operation," he said.
“The Ministry was actively working for the draft of the Act. The local body representatives were having problems in development works for lack of Act,” he added.
The DPM also said that the Constitution of Nepal is outstanding though his party has some reservation on some points.
Similarly, MoFA Secretary Dinesh Kumar Thapaliya assured full support from the side of ministry to make the local level autonomous, capable and strong.
The towns would be clean in low cost if the community and the private sectors were given responsibility for the garbage collection, he added.
