DPM Mainali calls parties to make women, children a priority
KATHMANDU: Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Women, Children and Social Welfare CP Mainali asked political parties to keep agendas of women and children on their priority list.
Speaking at an interaction organised on the eve of International Women's Day in the Capital today, the DPM said only the government's efforts were not sufficient to address concerns of women and children.
Leo Club of Nawalparasi Ramgram together with the Child Watabaran Centre Nepal (CWCN) had organised the interaction on the theme ‘Discrimination and Violence against Women and Children’.
Speaking at the function, social activists Sunita Danuwar, Pushpa Lata Bhattarai and Urmila Devi Bishwokarma emphasised the need to lessen discrimination and violence against women and children through active participation of youth.
The participants of the programme included students, social workers, social activists and individuals from various other sectors.
