Dr Govinda KC addresses DOB inconsistency in citizenship and SLC

KATHMANDU: Senior orthopaedic surgeon and medical activist Dr Govinda KC presented his original citizenship certificate and School Leaving Certificate, admitting a difference in the mentioned birth dates.

Dr KC and his team had organised a presser at Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital (TUTH), today, to address media reports claiming inconsistencies in the mentioned birth dates in his citizenship and that in his School Leaving Certificate.

The medical activist said that the inconsistency, that shows his DoB as October 12, 1956 in the citizenship and February 6m 1957 on the school certificate, is a result of human error.

This move came following accusations were leveled at Dr KC claiming that he had submitted different certificates at various levels of his long medical career.

It is to be noted that Dr KC has been demanding an investigation into the authenticity of Chief Justice Gopal Parajuli's citizenship.

Speaking at the press conference, KC admitted to the inconsistencies while accusing the TU authorities of trying to divert attention away from his legitimate demands by creating this controversy.

KC was arrested on charge of contempt of court in January for staging a sit in demanding resignation of CJ Gopal Parajuli.
