Dr KC, Govt likely to reach agreement today

KATHMANDU: Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital’s senior orthopaedic surgeon Dr Govinda KC is likely to reach an agreement with the government, today.

Talks between Dr KC's representatives and government officials, which was on-going at the Prime Minister's Office in Singha Durbar, has concluded. According to Advocate Om Prakash Aryal, the two parties are most likely to forge a consensus today.

However, there are some technical issues which can only be resolved after talking to Dr KC.

At present, Dr KC's team and government representatives are on their way to TUTH to talk to the senior orthopaedic surgeon to bring his 15th fast unto death to a favourable conclusion. If a consensus is reached post discussion with Dr KC, then the team will head towards the Prime Minister's official residence in Baluwatar to prepare the agreement.

Once the agreement is prepared, the team will head back to TUTH to get the fasting doctor's signature on the document, and only then Dr KC's hunger strike will officially come to an end.
