KATHMANDU: The senior orthopaedic surgeon at the Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital Dr Govinda KC, who had been staging a fast-unto-death putting forth a five-point demand, has postponed his strike, acknowledging the Dashain festival.

Issuing a press statement today, Dr KC said that the decision was made as the government postponed the proceeding related to the National Medical Education Bill- 2074.

The senior orthopaedic surgeon further demanded to pass the Bill as per the recommendations by Mathema-led panel.

He further warned of continuing his crusade if the government fails to address his five-point demands by October 5.
