Dr Sharma get reprieve thru court order

Gynecologist Dr Nutan Sharma, who was suspended by Nepal Medical Council for three months on August 9, got reprieve from the court today.
Appellate Court, Patan, issued an interlocutory order in response to an appeal filed by Dr Sharma, telling the defendants not to implement its decision to suspend Dr Sharma until the final disposal of the case. A division bench had issued the order.
Dr Sharma had filed an appeal at Patan Appellate Court against NMC and Registrar Nilmani Upadhyay, saying the defendants suspended her arbitrarily. NMC had suspended Dr Sharma for three months for allegedly conducting sex identification test of a foetus.
Advocates Bhimarjun Achayra, Subhas Acharya, Shambhu Thapa and Badri Bahadur Karki had pleaded on behalf of Dr Sharma. Dr Sharma returned to her duty at Alka Hospital after the court issued the order in her favour today, stated a press release issued by the hospital. She said although NMC had acted with prejudice in the case, she was happy that she got justice from the court.
