Dr Tulsi Giri to attend probe panel of his own accord

Kathmandu, June 26 :

Senior vice-chairman of the King’s erstwhile cabinet, Dr Tulsi Giri, told the high-level investigation commission headed by former Supreme Court judge Krishna Jung Rayamajhi that he would be present before the commission of his own accord tomorrow to record his statement and that there was no need to use force for the same.

“Dr Giri and others have told our staff that they will attend before the commission as ordered and that there is no need to use force for the same,” a member of the commission told this daily.

According to the member, Dr Giri told the staff he will attend at the commission before stipulated time. The Commission has ordered them to be present there at 11 am.

The Commission has summoned them to record their statements over their role in suppressing the people’s movement during the Jana Andolan in which 21 agitators were killed

and millions of rupees were misused by the royal cabinet.
