Dutch cheated of Rs 80,000
Kathmandu, January 29:
A Nepali assistant to a disabled Dutch has made off with Rs 80, 000 by using the foreigner’s Debit card two weeks ago, Tourist Police said. AVCM Qatheeuws, a physically disabled Dutch, who has been staying in Nepal from December 2005, had hired Kumar Tamang and another assistant to help him.
Tourist Police, quoting Qatheeus, said Kumar and Qatheeuws had gone to the Standard Chartered Bank at New Baneshwor to withdraw some Rs 40,000 some two weeks ago and about two days later he found that his money was missing and also that the deposit of Rs 40, 000 had been withdrawn by using his Debit card.
When Qatheeuws inquired Kumar about the lost money and withdrawn money Kumar answered nothing and fled, the police said. Police later found that his helper Kumar Tamang was the culprit and arrested him.
