KATHMANDU, APRIL 26
The Election Commission has called for voter participation in the upcoming by-elections for the House of Representatives (HoR) and the Provincial Assembly (PA) in Ilam-2 and Bajhang 1(A) respectively, scheduled for the next day.
In a press note issued on Friday, the EC urged voters from the respective constituencies to cast their votes between 7:00 am and 5:00 pm. The EC stated that all preparations for the elections have been completed.
Voters are reminded to bring an official identification card such as a voter ID card, Nepali citizenship certificate, national ID, PAN ID, or a driver's license to match it with the final voter name list for eligibility.
The EC emphasized that electoral activities are being closely monitored to ensure a credible, free, and fair election. Additionally, the EC reminded everyone to adhere to election-related laws, such as the Election Commission Act, Election Act, and Election Code of Conduct, especially with the beginning of the silence period.
The Home Ministry has directed concerned chief district officers to manage public transportation effectively for voters without compromising the integrity of the election, according to the EC.
