KATHMANDU: The Election Commission has called on the government to make correction in its decision of expanding the size of Council of Ministers.

According to Nawaraj Dhakal, EC spokesperson said, the Commission said that the Prime Minister's decision to induct two more ministers of state in his Cabinet has suppressed the essence of free and fair election.

"Moreover, the decision is an adverse to the election code of conduct," the EC added.

On September 12, the Commission had urged the government not take such decision that would have impact on the practice of free and fair elections.
