EC directs bodies to ensure security for presidential election
KATHMANDU: The Election Commission has directed security bodies to ensure prompt security provision for the upcoming presidential election.
A high-level meeting of the election security committee held in the Commission today issued directives to bodies concerned.
The presidential election is being held on March 13.
During the meeting, Chief Election Commissioner Ayodhee Prasad Yadav thanked the security bodies for their contribution in making the three-tier elections fair, free and credible.
On the occasion, Election Commissioner Sudheer Kumar Shah and Secretary at the Minister of Home Affairs Mohan Krishna Sharma asked the security bodies to provide security in order to conduct the presidential elections in a flawless manner.
Election Commissioners Ila Sharma, Narendra Dahal, Ishowri Prasad Poudyal, Secretary at the EC Begendra Raj Sharma Poudyal, Secretary at the Ministry of Defence Binod KC and chiefs of security bodies were also present at the meeting.
