The Election Commission of Nepal (EC) has announced that the Election Code of Conduct, 2082 BS, which came into effect on January 18 for the elections of National Assembly (NA) and House of Representatives (HoR) members, will be deactivated from midnight today.
EC spokesperson Narayan Prasad Bhattarai stated that the decision was taken by the commission today.
The Election Code of Conduct was implemented under the Election Commission Act, 2073 BS and is intended to ensure that elections are conducted in a free, fair, and fearless manner.
In a statement issued today, the EC confirmed that the code of conduct will remain inactive starting from midnight.
