Education minister to quit if varsity VCs not appointed by May 8
Kathmandu, April 16:
Minister for Education Pradip Nepal said today that he will resign on May 9 if officials, including vice-chancellors of four universities, are not appointed by May 8. Speaking at the parliamentary Education and Population Committee today, Nepal claimed that a group of teachers has been trying to create hurdles in the appointment of officials in the universities.
“It will be in the interests of everyone if the Prime Minister appoints the officials at the universities as soon as possible. I will resign on May 9 if the officials are not appointed by May 8,” Nepal said.
Nepal said he had called on the Prime Minister to appoint the officials by May 8.
