Educational consultancy operators held for swindling youths

KATHMANDU: The Metropolitan Crime Division of Nepal Police arrested two persons for their alleged involved in swindling millions of rupees in pretext of sending youths to Canada for lucrative jobs, recently.

Issuing a press statement today, MCD said Axa-Wai International Pvt ltd operators 30-year-old Ashok Kumar Yadav of Bishnupur Rural Municipality-1 in Saptari district and 38-year-old Ishwori Shivabhakti Yadav of Bijayapur Municipality-5 in Rautahat district were arrested from Maharajgunj area on Wednesday.

One of the victims, Bibek Bhusal of Tilottama Municipality in Rupandehi district, along with other three resorted to the MCD after realising being duped from the consultancy.

The youths paid at least 4 lakhs rupees to the Consultancy in hopes of flying to Canada, Turkey or Macao for lucrative jobs there, it said in the statement.

Meanwhile, the suspects have been sent to the Kathmandu Metropolitan Police Range for further investigation and action today itself.
