KATHMANDU: Police said they arrested eight persons who were taking various controlled drugs from a rented room in Gothatar on the eastern outskirts of Kathmandu Valley on Friday.

Seven of the arrestees are women.

Police said they were taking the drugs in the rented room of one Punam Khatri (21), a permanent resident of Manbhanjyang in Okhaldhunga.

Police seized 13 syringes and 30 ampoules of controlled drugs from them.

Further investigation is underway.
