KATHMANDU: An elderly woman died in a bus accident in Kalanki of the Capital on Sunday.

The deceased has been identified as Kanchhi Tamang (72) of Bhimdhunga, Ramkot-11 on the western outskirts of Kathmandu.

She was hit by the rear part of the bus (Ba 2 Kha 2305) while debussing at Kalanki Chok of KMC-14 this afternoon.

She was rushed to the Sahid Memorial Hospital in Kalanki for treatment, where she breathed her last.

Police said they have impounded the bus and arrested its driver for further investigation.
