EC fixes NA poll campaign ceiling at Rs 3.5 lakh
KATHMANDU: The Election Commission said each candidate could spend Rs 3.5 lakh on campaigning in the National Assembly election slated for February 7.
A meeting of EC commissioners presided over by Chief Election Commissioner Ayodhi Prasad Yadav took the decision to this effect.
Issuing a press release, EC Spokesperson Navaraj Dhakal said candidates were allowed to spend Rs 1,000 on purchase of voter list, Rs 70,000 to use vehicles, Rs 10,000 for fuel, Rs 14,500 for publicity materials, Rs 10,000 for transportation of publicity materials, Rs 1 lakh on interaction programmes, Rs 14,500 on media, Rs 70,000 to run office, Rs 30,000 to deploy representatives and Rs 30,000 on miscellaneous expenditure.
