Embassy of India marks World Hindi Day

Kathmandu, January 11

Ambassador of India to Nepal Manjeev Singh Puri said Hindi helped bind the peoples of India and Nepal.

The ambassador said this at a programme organised by the Embassy of India in collaboration with Hindi Department of Tribhuvan University to mark World Hindi Day here today.

Ambassador Puri also said that Hindi played an important role in India to protect Indian culture and bind various regions and societies there. He also read out the message of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi that he had sent for the World Hindi Day programme.

Nepal’s Minister of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Jitendra Narayan Dev said Hindi linked Nepal and India and this language played a key role in strengthening cultural relations between the two countries.

Indian Cultural Centre artistes presented their cultural shows at the programme. Over 200 people, including poets who recited poems, and employees of Indian Embassy in Nepal took part in the programme.
