Embezzlement case against Bajura campus officials

KATHMANDU: The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority on Sunday filed an embezzlement case at the Special Court against four including two officials of the Bajura-based Badimalika Campus.

Campus Chief Nawaraj Mainali, Accountant Lal Bahadur Rawal as well as auditors Tilak Bahadur Thapa and Chet Bahadur Bam were booked.

Issuing a press statement, the CIAA said Jaisi and Rawal had embezzled Rs 3.77 million by forging fake bills and misusing scholarship funds of the Campus over the years.

The constitutional body demanded a jail term and a penalty equal to the embezzled amount as per Section 8.1 (E) of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 2002.

Likewise, they should also pay back the embezzled amount if convicted.

Thapa and Bam were booked under Section 19.1 of the Act for auditing the Campus' accounts with the same fake bills and documents without checking the facts.

They will be slapped with the jail term and penalty accordingly if convicted.
