Envoy calls on Koirala
Kathmandu, May 19:
The Ambassador of Denmark Finn Tilsted called on Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala at the latter’s residence in Baluwatar, this morning.
According to a press release issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, today, the Danish Ambassador handed over a letter from the prime minister of Denmark addressed to Prime Minister Koirala, congratulating him on his appointment as Prime Minister of Nepal.
The Danish Ambassador welcomed the historic proclamation made by the House of Representatives on Thursday and termed the event as very important development in Nepal’s political history.
He informed that the Danish Government has decided to resume development activities, suspended immediately after the February 1, 2006 Royal takeover, with some 1.5 billion Nepalese rupees and informed that the Danish Government has also allocated some amo-unt for supporting democratic process in Nepal. PM Koirala than-ked the Danish Government for supporting democratic movement in Nepal and for providing development assistance in various fields.
