KATHMANDU, SEPTEMBER 24
US Ambassador to Nepal, Dean R Thompson, paid a courtesy call on Minister for Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation, Kulman Ghising, to discuss the implementation status of projects being carried out with US assistance in Nepal.
The meeting, held on Wednesday, also covered Nepal–US cooperation and the reconstruction of public infrastructure damaged during the Gen-Z protests. On the occasion, Ambassador Thompson extended congratulations to the newly appointed Minister on behalf of the United States and wished him a successful tenure.
Minister Ghising stated that the government's key priorities include rebuilding structures damaged in the protests, conducting the House of Representatives elections, and ensuring good governance.
Ambassador Thompson, in turn, reaffirmed the United States' commitment to continuing its assistance to Nepal.
