Kathmandu, August 30:

A former major of the Royal Nepalese Army (RNA), Prajwal Basnet, today filed a petition in the Supreme Court, seeking review of the apex court’s six-month-old verdict that upheld a three-year-old decision of the Military Court to sack him. The Military Court had sacked him for neglecting his duty even after the end of his leave period. Basnet had resigned from his post after the end of his leave period, but the RNA did not accept his resignation. He then moved the apex court, seeking its order to the RNA to approve his resignation. However, the RNA did not accept his resignation but sacked him before the SC decided the case.
