CIB's Operation Hawk: Pilot with fake ISc certificate held
KATHMANDU: Nepal Police's Central Investigation Bureau arrested a pilot on charge of using fake certificate of the Intermediate of Science (ISc) level before pursuing aviation course in the Philippines.
Police identified the suspect as Bishal Karki (36) of Dhanusha. He is affiliated with the Goma Air as a co-pilot.
He was arrested from Kupandol of Lalitpur yesterday.
According to the CIB, Karki had received license to fly aircraft --CPL(A) 486 -- from the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) after completing pilot course from an aviation school in the Philippines.
The CIB said it launched 'Operation Hawk' after receiving information that some pilots working in Nepal's aviation industry have fake academic certificates.
In co-ordination with CAAN, academic certificates of those pilots who have received flying license are being probed, CIB said today.
According to the CIB, it is carrying out investigation against Karki on forgery of the government seal/signature as per the Government Cases Act.
