KATHMANDU: The Federal Alliance, consisting of parties protesting the Constitution, said it would gherao the Prime Minister's residence in Baluwatar on Tuesday.

According to Mahesh Chaurasiya, an aide of the Federal Socialist Forum-Nepal Chairman Upendra Yadav, the gherao would begin at 10 am tomorrow.

The Alliance has hoped that the Baluwatar gherao programme would be more effective to put pressure on Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli for fulfilling the bloc's demands, according to statement issued by Chaurasiya this afternoon.

Earlier, the Alliance had picketed Singha Darbar, the central government office complex, on Sunday and Monday. The Alliance, meanwhile, concluded that the programme was a grand success.

Preparations have already begun for the Baluwatar gherao event also, the statement informed.
