Kathmandu, November 13:

Dr Abani Bhushan Upadhaya, chairman of the Medicare National Hospital and Research Centre, has been awarded the Fellowship in the American College of Cardiology (FACC). Upadhaya was honoured with the fellowship for his initiation to establish cardiology service at the Bir Hospital in the 1970s and for establishing Nepal Heart Foundation, Shahid Ganga Lal National Heart Centre, Nepal Cardiac Society and SAARC Cardiac Society.

He has now become the fourth Nepali cardiologist to receive the designation of Fellow of American College of Cardiology.
