Fest-a-month boost to pilgrimage at Pashupatinath

Kathmandu, March 20:

The Pashupati Area Development Trust today announced that it will hold at least one festival in the revered temple so as to develop it as an international pilgrimage site.

“We will celebrate Vatsaleshwor and Bajreshwori Jatra in a grand manner from March 24 to March 29. We will celebrate one or the other festival every month in a grand manner at Pashupati,” said Parmananda Shakya, member secretary, PADT. “We are doing this in order to protect our national culture and tradition. Pashupati being the main temple for all Hindus around the world, we will ensure something is happening at the temple all the time,” Shakya said.

During the week-long Vatsaleshwor and Bajreshwori Jatra, several forms of worship related specifically to Tantra will be performed.
