KATHMANDU, OCTOBER 10
Finance Minister Dr. Prakasharan Mahat held a meeting with Riccardo Puliti, the Regional Vice President of the International Finance Corporation (IFC) for Asia and the Pacific, in Marrakesh, Morocco, during the sidelines of the annual meeting of the World Bank.
On this occasion, matters related to increasing private investment and mobilizing external capital for Nepal's economic development were discussed, as reported by the Ministry of Finance.
During the meeting, Finance Minister Dr. Mahat emphasized that there are ample opportunities for investment in Nepal, particularly in information and communication, agribusiness, tourism, and other sectors. He also stressed the importance of effectively mobilizing investments in the local currency.
In appreciation of the efforts made by the government of Nepal to create an investment-friendly environment, IFC Vice President Puliti expressed his commitment to providing full support for Nepal's socio-economic development initiatives.
