KATHMANDU:  A fire broke out in the vicinity of National Tuberculosis Centre in Thimi, Bhaktapur, this afternoon. Efforts are ongoing to douse the fire which is still not completely under control

Traffic has been affected around the area, coming to a halt. The fire has spread around dry bushes that surround the area.

"Somebody seems to have trashed a burning cigarette in the dumping site located in the area that seems to have started the fire," Nepal Police Head Constable Lok Bahadur KC said.

Fire fighting vehicles have arrived in large numbers.
