KATHMANDU: Property worth around Rs 1,354,000 were destroyed in a fire that broke out in a furniture factory in Bhaktapur Municipality-10 of Bhaktapur district on Saturday.

According to police, the fire gutted the furniture factory operated in a shed by Jayram Bhainato in Pipeline and woods, machinery, furniture, generator, Rs 25,000 cash, 1.5 tola gold jewelleries housed inside the unattended factory.

The cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained.

Meanwhile, further investigation into the case is underway, said police.
