Fire in Indian Embassy vehicle "due to technical fault"

KATHMANDU: The Indian Embassy in Kathmandu denied media reports which claimed that one of its vehicles was torched at Lazimpat of Kathmandu by cadres of a Maoist outfit on Saturday.

Fire in the personal vehicle of an Embassy of India Kathmandu staffer was an accident due to technical fault, the Embassy said on a Twitter post.

Various reports had claimed that cadres of Netra Bikram Chand-led CPN Maoist set the vehicle on fire.

The Embassy also said no one was hurt in the accident.
