KATHMANDU: Property worth Rs 2.17 million was destroyed as a garment industry caught fire in Mhepi of Kathmandu on Thursday night.

Police said an electronic short circuit sparked fire in the Ganapati Garment in Mhepi, KMC-16.

Three sewing machines and two overlock machines among others were destroyed, police said.

A fire brigage assisted by police and locals doused the fire.

Local police are looking into the case.
