Fires destroy property, injure two

KATHMANDU: Two incidents of fire on Wednesday and Thursday gutted property worth Rs 1 million and injured two in Kathmandu.

A fire sparked from the electronic short circuit destroyed the wooden logs and bamboo canes stored at a furniture industry in Basnettar of Dharmasthali in Tarakeshwor Municipality-14 today.

The Tirupati Bamboo Furniture operated by Badri Prasad Guragain had caught the fire.

Meanwhile, two people were seriously injured after the abrupt beginning of fire in a room located in Kaushaltar, Madhyapur Thimi-15 of Bhaktapur district.

Seriously injured Indian citizen duo Shekhjamin Mullah (23) and Saman Begam (24) are receiving treatment at Kirtipur Model Hospital.

The fires were put off by the help of local people and fire brigades.

Police are doing further investigating into the cases.
