5 injured in Bhaktapur house collapse
BHAKTAPUR: As many as five persons were injured when a house collapsed due to incessant rainfall in Suryabinayak Municipality-10 of Bhaktapur district on Wednesday evening.
The injured have been identified as Pashupati Thapa (50), Sharada Thapa (21), Umesh Thapa (19), Roshan Thapa (21), and Sarina Thapa (20), according to Police Inspector Madan KC, Information Officer at Metropolitan Police Range, Bhaktapur.
According to police, the incident occurred when the house made of mud and brick belonging to Bidur Thapa at Chittapole Khulal village collapsed yesterday, injuring the family living inside.
The injured were rushed to the Kavre-based Dhulikhel Hospital where they have been undergoing treatment, informed police. It has been learnt that none of the injured are in serious condition.
Property worth around Rs 1.3 million were destroyed in the incident, informed Inspector KC.
Meanwhile, further investigation into the case is underway, said police.
