Fix leaking pipes to prevent inundation: PMO team

Kathmandu, July 27

The monitoring team led by secretary at the Office of the Prime Minister Chandra Kumar Ghimire today directed the authorities concerned to fix leaking water supply and drainage pipes within three days.

PMO’s Economic and Infrastructure Development Division Chief  Damodar Regmi, who is also in the monitoring team, said busy intersections like Jamal, Lazimpat and Putali Sadak were inundated due to leaking water supply and drainage pipes. “We concluded that unless leaks are fixed, road repair work cannot be carried out smoothly,” he added.

The team had begun monitoring road repair work from New Baneswor at 7:00am. The team also monitored Gausala-Jorpati, Chabahil-Narayan Gopal Chowk and Narayan Gopal Chowk-Balaju road sections. It also monitored road repair work at Pani Pokhari, Lazimpat, Jamal, Sundhara and Tripureshwor Chowk.
