FNJ concerned about HBC FM move to scrap scribes’ identity cards

Kathmandu, August 29:

The Federation of Nepali Journalists (FNJ) today expressed concern about action taken by the HBC FM against its journalists and employees. “We are seriously concerned about the notice issued by the advisor to the HBC FM, Birendra Dahal, and pasted at the main gate of the FM station today,” a release issued by FNJ vice-president Shiva Gaule said.

According to the statement, the notice says that identity cards issued to all journalists and employees by the FM station have been scrapped and an advertisement has been published in this regard.

The FNJ demanded that the FM management implement the Working Journalists Act. The HBC FM went on air yesterday evening, after 22 days of closure.
