FNJ to protest against govt suppression
Kathmandu, January 21:
Federation of Nepalese Journalists (FNJ) today said it would announce a fresh programme to protest the growing suppression of the state and curbing of people’s right to express and movement.
Participants flayed the government’s bid to quell democratic practices of holding peaceful demonstration by imposing daytime curfew and creating terror.
Addressing an interaction, chairman of FNJ Bishnu Nisthuri said the state is crossing all the limits of denial of people’s fundamental right these days.
“We will stand in the front line to protest against the King’s suppression on right to expression,” he said.
Vice-chairman of Nepal Bar Association Sher Bahadur KC said NBA would assist for filing case against the government’s high handedness from the victims’ side.
General secretary of Nepal University Teachers’ Association, Rameshowr Upadhyaya, Murari Sharma of Press Union, Bharat Pokrel of Press Chautari and Kabir Rana of Weekly Papers’ Network also expressed their solidarity in the fight against the autocratic regime.
