Forgery convict nabbed
KATHMANDU: Police arrested a man who was absconding after being convicted in a government seal forgery case around eight months ago.
A team deployed from the Central Investigation Bureau of Nepal Police arrested Lila Bahadur Tamang (43), a resident of Belkot VDC-8 of Nuwakot district, from Banasthali of Kathmandu on Wednesday.
The Rajbiraj Appellate Court on December 12, 2014 had convicted him of preparing a fake identity card of one Riwaj Rai, a resident of Nechabatase VDC-4 of Solukhumbu, which he needed to return to Nepal after losing the passport.
The Court had slapped him with one-year jail term and Rs 50,000 fine.
Rai had readied the fake card around three years ago for Rs 25,000, according to police.
The CIB produced the convict before the Kathmandu District Court to execute the sentence.
