KATHMANDU, JULY 7

Former federal and provincial leader-lawmakers of the Maoist Centre are filing an application at the Election Commission today demanding the scrapping of registration of the Maoist Centre.

The former lawmakers who had earlier been removed from their parliamentary seats by the CPN-Maoist Centre for defecting to the CPN-UML, are proceeding to the Commission with the complaint, today.

The said lawmakers had lost their seats in federal and provincial parliaments, as well as Ministerial berths, following the party action in March.

Citing that the Maoist Centre in itself is an illegitimate unit, as it has failed to adhere to party policies, the complainants are filing a case reasoning that their action, in turn, too is illegitimate.
