KATHMANDU, APRIL 5
Nepal Police have arrested four individuals on charges of defrauding people by promising lucrative foreign employment opportunities.
Those arrested include Karna Bahadur Raut, Ananda Thapa, Radhika Pathak Paudel and Tilak Pariyar.
Police said the accused collected large sums of money from victims by promising jobs in countries including Finland, Malta and Serbia before going out of contact.
Raut allegedly took Rs 5.7 million from 11 victims, Thapa Rs 450,000 from one victim, Paudel Rs 420,000 from two victims, and Pariyar Rs 800,000 from two victims.
They were arrested from different locations in Kathmandu by a team from the Kathmandu Valley Crime Investigation Office, Teku, following complaints from victims.
The suspects have been sent to the Department of Foreign Employment, Tahachal, for further investigation and legal action.
