Four bodies recovered from Rasuwa landslide debris
KATHMANDU: The bodies of four persons, who went missing on Monday in the Pairebesi landslide in Rasuwa district, have been recovered on Tuesday evening.
Dharma Bahadur Thapa Magar (72), his daughter-in-law Muna Thapa Magar (27), grandson Rabin Thapa Magar (3), and helper Bhakta Bahadur Nagarkoti (70) were reported missing after the rain-triggered landslide buried their home in Uttargaya Rural Municipality-4 on Sunday night.
A rescue team deployed to the incident site had recovered Magar’s body while removing the rubble on Tuesday evening.
The bodies of remaining three — Magar duo and Nagarkoti — were recovered on Monday.
Similarly, the condition of four persons who were injured in the incident is reported to be out of danger.
Meanwhile, the security personnel have also rescued 27 families — 15 families buried in the landslide and 12 at risk — and relocated them to a residential shelter at the Upper Trishuli 3A Hydropower Project.
