Four sub-committees formed to study prevailing laws
KATHMANDU: The Legislation Management Committee under the National Assembly -- upper house of the federal parliament -- has constituted four separate thematic sub-committees to make recommendations after studying the existing Acts.
A meeting of the committee on Monday formed the sub-committees which have been asked to submit their reports within three months, committee chairman Parshuram Meghi Gurung said.
These sub-committees include the sub-committee related to land administration, which is under the coordination of lawmaker Thagendra Prasad Puri; the sub-committee related to education, under the coordination of lawmaker Badri Prasad Pandey; the sub-committee on transport, under the coordination of lawmaker Brikhesh Chandra Lal; and the sub-committee related to consumer interest protection, under the coordination of lawmaker Sher Bahadur Kunwar.
Committee chair Gurung said that the reports would also be tabled in the parliament.
