Frauds arrested
KATHMANDU: Police have arrested a man on charge of swindling four persons of Rs 1.11 million, assuring them of jobs in the Nepali Army and Nepal Police. A team of the Metropolitan Police Crime Division nabbed Deepak Pariyar, 30, of Aarupokhari-9, Gorkha, from the capital on Tuesday after he was identified as one of the frauds who swindled money promising a job in the security agencies. He had also said he had good rapport with high level NA and NP officials. But when the victims knew about the con, they filed a complaint at the MPCD. Pariyar has been sent to the Metropolitan Police Range, Teku, for further investigations and action.
Five suspects held
KATHMANDU: The Central Investigation Bureau of Nepal Police on Tuesday arrested five people, including a woman, from Chabahil in possession of dices made of ivory. The detainees are Bishal Bohara, 25, of Sindhupalchowk, Aakesh Bhandari, 22, of Bardiya, Manoj Basnet, 24, and Bishal Karki, 21, of Ramechhap and Sabita Pradhan, 40, of Lalitpur. Police have confiscated 19 pieces of dice from them.
