€4,000 support announced for 2026 project led by Radha Paudel Foundation

KATHMANDU, NOVEMBER 15

The French Embassy in Nepal has announced a grant of €4,000 to the Radha Paudel Foundation (RPF) for a year-long initiative aimed at strengthening youth leadership in menstrual dignity and helping prevent gender-based violence across Nepal.

The project, titled "Strengthen Youth Leadership on Menstrual Dignity for Preventing Gender-Based Violence in Nepal," will run from January to December 2026, the embassy said in a statement on Thursday.

French Ambassador Virginie Corteval said the initiative aligns with France's feminist diplomacy, which places gender equality and the rights of women and girls at the center of its foreign policy.

"This collaboration reflects our commitment to promoting women's rights and dignity," she said.

The Radha Paudel Foundation, a woman-led organization, works nationwide through its network - the Dignified Menstruation Campaign Nepal (DMC Nepal) - engaging in advocacy, research, training and grassroots campaigns to reduce stigma and discrimination tied to menstruation.

The French Embassy said the grant underscores its continued support for advancing the rights and wellbeing of women and girls in Nepal.
