Gachhadar-led front flexible on rejoining CA

KATHMANDU: The disgruntled Madhes-centric political parties, including the Madhesi Janaadhikar Forum-Democratic (MJF-D) have shown flexibility on returning to the Constituent Assembly (CA).

The National Madhes Socialist Party (NMSP) and Madhesi Janadhikar Forum-Republican (MJF-R), forming the Federal Democratic Alliance, had formally walked out of the statute drafting process on September 5, expressing reservations over the proposed state demarcation in the new constitution.

The Alliance led by Bijay Kumar Gachhadar of late has been engaging in dialogues with the major three political parties, providing conducive environment to resolve the issues of discontent.

MJFD-D General Secretary Ram Janam Chaudhary told the Rastriya Samachar Samiti that the Alliance has been holding discussions with Nepali Congress, CPN-UML and UCPN-Maoist.

"We have held talks with the leaders of major three parties yesterday and today. We could consider returning to the CA provided our four-point demands are implemented," shared Chaudhary.
