The sealed outlets of Bajeko Sekuwa include those located at Anamnagar, Sorhakhutte, Samakhushi, Battisputali, Kamalpokhari and Gairidhara, according to officials of the Ministry of Home Affairs.MoHA officials said one of the six sealed outlets is owned by Bhandari’s brother-in-law. Suspecting Bhandari’s involvement in the gold smuggling racket, the government had earlier suspended all his bank accounts and withheld properties registered under his name. Bhandari, who has been at large for several weeks, is said to be a relative of Chudamani Upreti aka Gorey — the main accused in the 33-kilogram gold smuggling case. The government had filed a case against Bhandari as a fugitive defendant in the gold racket case at the Morang District Court.Last week, the police raided the house of Mohan Agrawal at Anamnagar. Agrawal is believed to have funded the smuggling of the 33 kg gold. During the raid, police recovered more than Rs 2 million in cash, gold biscuits and a jacket specially designed to smuggle the yellow metal. The home ministry probe committee also raided Raj Jewellery Store at Durbar Marg on Monday and seized gold jewellery worth almost Rs 230 million. RK Jewellery is owned by Rajendra Shakya — one of the accused in the 33-kilogram gold smuggling case.
